If your browser supports javascript, you can go further. After clicking on the zoomed view, the J2000 RA and DEC coordinates of your selected point will be displayed in a little window in the lower left hand corner. These are derived from the preliminary astrometric calibrations of our data. Finally, next to the table displaying the coordinates, there is a link to NED, the NASA Extragalactic Database. If you have a live Internet connection, you can search for a NED object within an arcminute of the click. There are a few spectacular NGC and UGC galaxies in the mosaic, like the NGC 6070 shown in the figure. |

Warning about browsers
The following pages will run best on a modern browser
with Javascript enabled.
Our recommendation is to use either Netscape Navigator 4.x, or
Internet Explorer 4.x. The Javascript-based pages should also fully
work with Netscape 3.x, but they are incompatible with Internet
Explorer 3 and below. Browsers without Javascript capability and Internet
Explorer 3 will still be able to
display the bitmaps, but cannot generate the J2000 coordinates.
Correspondingly the NED search will be disabled.
After you click on the GO link, a new window will be opened. For best
results, i.e. for the largest display area for the images, hide the toolbar
and the navigation bar on your browser. We will try to open the window
in this mode, but this will not work with every browser. In the box
below, we try to detect your browser, and determine whether
Javascript is disabled. You may want to check your
settings if that is the case
