DR5 paper accepted for publication

The journal reference for the Fifth Data Release is the DR5 paper: Adelman-McCarthy et al. 2007, ApJS 172, 634.

DR5 quasar catalog available

April 9, 2007: As decribed in Schneider et al. 2007 (AJ 134, in press; preprint available as .ps [1 MB] and .ps.gz [0.5 MB] and at arXiv:0704.0806), the DR5 quasar catalog contains 77429 quasars from DR3 that have i-band luminosities brighter than -22, at least one broad emission line, and highly reliable redshifts. The catalog is now available in ASCII and FITS binary table format. It supersedes the previous editions of the SDSS Quasar Catalog. Bug in CAS match table fixed

October 16 2006: We have fixed the bug in the computation of the match table: all entries now have the correct miss column data (see the match table description).

SDSS acknowledgements updated

The SDSS has now entered a second phase of funding and operations, SDSS-II, with new participating institutions. Please use the updated SDSS acknowledgement statement in your publications using SDSS data.
