NMSU logo

New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Las Cruces, NM, joined the SDSS collaboration in 2000 as an Associate Partner. NMSU is responsible for operating the observing site at Apache Point. Several faculty and students will be involved in SDSS research and in collaborations with other SDSS partners. Research interests related to SDSS include using the dynamics and shapes of galaxies to understand the distribution of mass and the role of interactions, global and spectrophotometric properties of galaxies, galactic structure, and brown dwarfs.
