Accurate active galactic nucleus (AGN) identifications and spatially resolved host galaxy properties are a powerful combination for studies of the role of AGN and AGN feedback in the coevolution of galaxies and their central supermassive black holes. Here, we present robust identifications of 387 AGN in the final, DR17 MaNGA sample. The AGN in the MaNGA AGN catalog are identified via mid-infrared Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer colors, Swift/BAT ultrahard X-ray detections, NVSS and FIRST radio observations, and broad emission lines in SDSS spectra. The radio AGN are further subdivided as quasar-mode (high-excitation radio galaxy; HERG) or radio-mode (low-excitation radio galaxy; LERG). The MaNGA AGN catalog also provides estimates of the AGN bolometric luminosities.

This catalog is described in detail in Comerford et al. 2020 and Comerford et al. 2024. A MaNGA Galaxy Merger Catalog, new since DR17, can be accessed here. This Merger Catalog was published along with Comerford et al. 2024.

We always recommend that you use the latest available version of catalog, which for this VAC is v2.0.1. An earlier version of this VAC, v1.0.1 is still available here, which was based on a subset of the final MaNGA sample, and used a more liberal class of radio sources, that could include possible contamination by star formation rather than AGN.
