Value Added Catalogs

In addition to the primary SDSS photometry and spectroscopy, there are a few extra catalogs created by our collaborators that are distributed through the SAS. These Value-Added Catalogs (VACs) are listed below, and include catalogs that were released in earlier data releases.

Abstract

This catalog contains the fluctuations of the Lyman-alpha transmitted flux fraction in the Lyman-alpha and Lyman-beta spectral regions. The data are taken from BOSS and eBOSS quasar spectra. This catalog is used in the eBOSS DR16 Baryonic Acoustic Oscillatation (BAO) measurement (du Mas des Bourboux et al. 2020), using the Lyman-alpha auto-correlation function and Lyman-alpha -- quasar cross-correlation function. This is the largest data set ever released of Lyman-alpha tracers of the matter density fluctuations. The construction and content of this catalog is described in more detail in du Mas des Bourboux et al. (2020), and on the website linked above.
