Value Added Catalogs

In addition to the primary SDSS photometry and spectroscopy, there are a few extra catalogs created by our collaborators that are distributed through the SAS. These Value-Added Catalogs (VACs) are listed below, and include catalogs that were released in earlier data releases.

Abstract

This value added catalog provides the results of the optical spectral fitting of SPIDERS (Spectral Identification of eROSITA Sources) Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) in the eFEDS field, including host-galaxy decomposition for ~30% of the sources. Our sample was detected with eROSITA and followed up with SDSS, being public since SDSS DR18 (see Aydar et al. 2025). The methodology for the optical spectral fitting is described in Aydar et al. (2026), in which we use pPXF for the host galaxy decomposition and PyQSOFit for the AGN fitting. Some of the results from this VAC will be further described in Aydar et al. in prep. For each of the ~13k pairs of SDSS optical spectra and eROSITA X-ray detection, we provide: 1) PyQSOFit line properties: emission line measurements (central wavelength, flux, luminosity, full width at half maximum, and equivalent width) 2) pPXF host decomposition results: AGN contribution to the continuum, aperture-corrected stellar mass, stellar velocity dispersion, D4000, mass-to-light ratio, age and metallicity of the stellar populations 3) PyQSOFit fit parameters: continuum (Fe II, power-law, and polynomial parameters) and emission line fitting parameters (of each individual Gaussian used in the fit) as in the original PyQSOFit output 4) Main X-ray catalog from Brunner et al. (2022): eROSITA information about the sources detected in the 0.2-2.3 keV band (e.g., extent, detection likelihood, count rates, source flux, and background flux) 5) Hard X-ray catalog from Brunner et al. (2022): eROSITA information about the sources detected in the 2.3-5.0 keV band (e.g., extent, detection likelihood, count rates, source flux, and background flux) 6) X-ray spectral properties from Liu et al. (2022): results from the AGN X-ray spectral fitting (e.g., absorption corrected flux, X-ray intrinsic luminosity, hydrogen column density, and power-law slope) 7) Counterparts from Salvato et al. (2022): Multiwavelength photometric information, with data from Legacy Survey DR8, WISE, Gaia, GALEX, KIDS, OmegaCam, HSC, VISTA/VIKING, and VISTA/VHS The pairs of observations can be associated through the "PK_index" column, and we also provide other parameters for associating the different tables, such as the SDSS ID (ObjID) and the eROSITA ID (ERO_Name), or even the SDSS RA and DEC. We note, however, that one X-ray source can be associated with more than one SDSS observation, and vice-versa. We provide data for 13 143 pairs of 12 869 SDSS spectra related to 10 115 unique X-ray sources (which can be detected on the main and/or hard eROSITA band).
